I looked on the Short Mat site regarding guidance.
It says they have submitted a proposal to Sport England to re-open the Short Mat clubs but no response shown on their web-site as yet.
I had a quick chat with Martin regarding his Wednesday League.
Martin and the Competition Committee plan to put respective notices up to start getting names of interested players.
Martin and Jean are planning for a Formula One League
Ours will be the Isle of Wight League.
Should we get the ok from the General Committee to get up and running in October, I would like to complete last seasons League, Pairs and Singles Competitions first.
Our Suggestion at this time, subject to approval or variation is
In the short mat area, we are suggesting 3 or 4 chairs at the honours board end for the players only.
One chair for the scorer and two chairs for spectators between the bar and Ladies toilet.
Two chairs between the Ladies toilet and scoreboard
Two chairs at the picture end for the players.
The remaining club and bar area, seating will be restricted in numbers too
Government restrictions may change before October, either way!!

Short mat bowls are played at the club from October to April. Internal club matches are played as two leagues, one on Wednesdays and one on Sundays and Thursdays (Club night). Teams comprise of approximately seven players who play games of triples. Short mat bowls are open to any member of the club.
